Awakening

As we embark on a new journey, facing a new year, traditionally, people start a diet, vow to meet resolutions, and set new goals. But this year is different for many people. Still being in the middle of a global Pandemic, a political climate that has torn our country and even households apart, civil unrest, devastating natural disasters, economic struggle, and even financial crisis; this year is definitely different. More than ever, people want to leave the negativity of last year behind and move into something new, something better, something brighter. We need hope now more than ever.

We need God.

With everything negative that has occurred, I fully believe that we can collectively move into a new, more positive place in our spirits, in our minds, and our bodies. We are on our knees begging for a reset. Of all the things lost during this crisis, the most precious is human life. People saying good-bye to loved ones on FaceTime has become much too common. We are reminded of the power of love. The kind of Love that can transcend time, space, and this world. It is time for us to awaken into the Sacred Space within ourselves that is guided by God’s Love and Light. Individually and collectively, we can open our hearts and minds to the good that exists in our world. Whatever our religious or political beliefs are, let us stand together as One. As humans, as the family we were meant to be. Let us work together, help each other, hold hands in unity as we overcome anything that does not bring us together in harmony.

Let us take a moment to reflect on what we have learned about ourselves, our beliefs, how we live, our morals, and what is important in life. We have learned that we can’t take for granted basic freedoms like gathering with people we love, hugging people, or especially getting to hold the hand of someone we love while their soul leaves this physical world. Before this pandemic, we took basic things for granted like having our children go to school or play with their friends. Did you ever think you would hear people say they are grateful to go to work? Masks and sanitizer have become a staple everywhere we go. Hugging those we love and care about to say hello or good-bye has become off limits. We realize now more than ever that we cherish a holiday gathering, rather than see is as a stressor.

With all we have been through, we should recognize and give ourselves credit for what have done. We have adapted. We have changed. We have individually and collectively worked to get through this. We have kept going. We are ever-evolving. Even in our bleakest of moments, there has been God’s ever-present guidance. So let us continue to persevere and have hope. We are awake and alive and ready to reclaim our lives and our world. Let us march forward in Love and Light and let God lead the way…
