Inner Compass

“Intuition is your soul whispering the truth to your heart and hoping that you hear.” Kate Spencer

Buried deep inside us at our core, we have wisdom beyond measure. It is our intuition. Our inner compass. It is the Sacred space of inner knowing where everything is crystal clear when we are connected to God. In our purest form, we feel God’s love all around us and we have the clarity and intuition that guides us to positive people, places, and things. When we are healthy and balanced, our intuition and connection with God are our most powerful assets. Our intuitive mind is our superpower when we tap into it.

We are born with innate wisdom. Innocent and pure, our Soul has powerful knowledge. But it seems that as we go through life, experiences that bring us pain can cause us to question our intuition and stop trusting it. It might be because we allowed ourselves to trust someone and they betrayed us. Or it could be that it started early on in life. If the people that were supposed to love us and protect us are the very ones that hurt us, how can we trust ourselves when it doesn’t seem that the world is a safe place? Even when it is all we know, we know that abuse is wrong. We know at our core that we should be loved and nurtured and the world should be made safe by our caregivers. The effects of abuse are countless and the depths of the wounds it causes can block our ability to believe we have anything good, let alone a superpower like intuition.

Not everything in life is of God. Sometimes we sustain injuries at the hands of others or by life’s cruel events, and as we walk through life and hurtful things take place, we often stop trusting ourselves. We learn to ignore our intuition or override it even when we hear it. So often we say, “I had a feeling about that” or “I knew it was a bad idea” but we did not trust ourselves or believe that we had the answers. So we end up doing things that we regret or ending up in bad situations.

Intuition is the gut instinct that gives us information without thought or conscious reasoning. At our core, our spirit knows the way. When we sit in the stillness of prayer and meditation, the answers to our questions about life can come to light. Sometimes in order to live in God’s light, we first have to be willing to risk walking through the darkness of healing old wounds, trusting that if we keep going and we keep listening, our intuition will lead us to God’s path. The healthier we are, the more clarity we gain.

We are born with true wisdom in our souls. We all have a purpose and the ability to be guided by our intuition. It can be in the form of a premonition, an instinct, a gut feeling, or an inner voice. If you have stopped trusting in your ability to choose wisely for yourself, heal and rebuild your bond with yourself. Know that God’s light and love are never far. Try listening for your intuition and the next time you feel lost or overwhelmed, tap into your inner compass and find your way…
