Forging Forward

“You were put on this Earth to achieve your greatest self, to live out your purpose, and do it courageously.” Steve Maraboli

There are times in life when it is essential to see our blessings. So often we get caught up in our daily grind and stress that we stop looking at the beauty surrounding us. For many people, the last few years have been challenging and we still feel the effects of living through a pandemic. We hear many stories about how people’s loved ones lost their lives. So as life normalizes for many of us, some people’s lives will be forever changed. Now is an excellent time to pause and focus on all the blessings God has bestowed upon us.

If you are feeling overwhelmed or lost in the tasks of today, stop to take a breath and center yourself in God’s ever-present love and light. Do something good for yourself, find the time for laughter and quality time with people you love. Look to nature for its vast beauty. Figure out what is in your control to change and what isn’t. Frequently, I talk with people who hyper-focus on the “what-ifs” rather than the “what is”. If you find yourself doing that, bring yourself back to this moment. Center yourself in the reality of what is happening today. I often tell people that if they have a fear, ask themselves if it is a fear that they can make a plan from. If it is, then make a plan and rest assured because you know what to do if that feared event happens. If the fear is ambiguous and no concrete plan of action can be made, then know it is time to put it in God’s hands and focus your energy elsewhere. I personally like to say, “I can’t, God can, I’ll let Him”.

If you have been standing in the darkness, find the light and walk towards it. It is our purpose to find what brings our soul joy and live life to the fullest knowing that there is a reason for our journey here. Often we can find value in sharing our gifts with others. It takes courage to face life’s challenges, but if you Forge Forward with God by your side, you can know the true joy of your unique purpose in this life…
